The Mighty Travel Bug [POEM]

travel poems
Written by Arunima

He lurks in the corners,

Out of sight,

Waiting to pounce,

In the dark of the night.

He can sense the spark,

He can sense the want,

He can sense the gypsy within you,

But sense him, you can’t.

He is hidden in your mail,

He is hidden in those notifications,

You smile and you “like”,

While he sneaks into your imaginations.

You walk the alley,

You’re so ignorant,

You barely feel the nip,

Brush it away, call it an ant.

The Mighty Travel Bug,

He’s finally got to you,

You come out of the alley,

Never knowing what hit you.

But you suddenly see the light,

Your mind declares treason,

Your feet want to wander,

Till they meet the horizon.
