He Doesn’t Say He Loves Me [POEM]

poems about love

He doesn’t say he loves me

Calls me tirelessly

When away from home I be.

He doesn’t say he loves me

Enquires whether a tray I’d like

As cooped in bed I lie.

He doesn’t say he loves me

Holding my hand firmly in his

In a crowded marketplace.

He doesn’t say he loves me

We didn’t do too badly, he says

Looking proudly at the dear young ‘uns.

He doesn’t say he loves me

Mentions I looked lovelier than most

At the office party last night.

He doesn’t say he loves me

Laughs away my moody quirks

After a hard day at work.

He doesn’t say he loves me

Remembers the pretty white dress

At first-meet I wore.

He doesn’t say he loves me

You smell nice today, he murmurs

Absently kissing me goodbye!
