BOX OF KISSES [POEM]

father and daughter

Another busy day, I thought,
Usually with my laptop and meeting dates,
Suddenly, a voice with greetings,
Wished me, “Dad! Happy Birthday!”

She presented me,
A very beautiful box,
Studded with jewels and precious stones
I have never seen.

Opening an empty box ,
Made me aggravated,
I glared in irritation,
She ran away in tears

Looking down again,
I saw a letter inside the box,
Instructing me that the box
Was filled with kisses and love from my daughter….

Realizing this, I realized
I was too late…
My daughter left me in tears,
With a box of kisses.

In our busy routines, we often forget that our children’s world is much smaller, simpler and revolves mostly entirely around their parents – us. Simple gestures and understanding on our part mean the world to them.

Your time is the best gift that you can give to your child. Read a story today to him/her/them and share the gift of time. Here are some heart-warming and fun stories that you can read with your kid(s).
